We’re back…

We’re happy to announce the reopening of North Park figure drawing workshop. We the staff have missed everyone in the art community and look forward to seeing old and new faces.

The first session is currently set for Saturday, December 4th from 10am to 1pm. As of this moment we will be only meeting on Saturdays. Thursday classes will be closed until further notice. The city of San Diego has mandated that all attendees must wear a mask and that we must limit the amount of attendees to around 20 people. We will be meeting at our usual room at the North Park Recreation Center (4044 Idaho Street) and the attendance fee will now be $10, cash only. Please bring exact change.

We will post the model schedule soon. These are some unusual times and circumstances, so please be aware that things can change. If there are any changes from now until re-opening, we will post here.

Thank you Richard Nolan, We will miss you

Richard-Nolan

It is with a heavy heart that we at the North Park Drawing Group are saddened at the loss of our dear friend Richard Nolan.  Richard was a more than just a regular attendee.  He was a staple of our drawing community who helped run the group throughout the decades.  Richard was a talented artist who always had a smile and story to enlighten you of North Park’s history.  We hope that you will join us in keeping Richard & his surviving family in your thoughts, prayers, condolences & well wishes in these most trying times.

San Diego Recreation centers are still closed to prevent spread of the COVID-19 virus until further notice.  Once the recreation centers re-open, we will post when North Park Drawing Group is able to commence.  Stay safe everyone.

Road work continues on Idaho Street

NPD_Idaho Road Work

On Thursday, February 27th, construction was still occuring on Idaho Street right in front of the North Park Recreation Center. Most of Idaho street north of Lincoln Ave and south of Howard Ave was blocked off with detour signs.  As of this post we don’t know if the construction and detours will continue for Saturday, February 28th or for how much longer the construction work will continue.  So just a heads up: prepare for an even more challenging parking than usual.
