Other Places to Draw

This page was made in response to many people asking us, “where are there more open studio figure drawing groups in San Diego?” We have a listing at artmodelbook.com.  It’s a great resource for checking out other places to do figure drawing in Southern California.  But here is a list of other places that we are aware of.  We suggest contacting these groups before attending as things might change since the time of this posting.

  2. Even though it’s not in San Diego County, it’s close enough. On a Saturday you could paint a model for 10 hours for $30.

    LCAD offers three weekend figure drawing workshops. $15 per session. ALL mediums are welcome. The studios have plenty of horses, easels and taborets. Model gender varies. The workshops are uninstructed but feel free to ask for help from the host.
    • Saturday 9:00am – 2:00pm. Studio 8. Nude, short poses 2min – 20min. We will have music and coffee.
    • Saturday 4:00pm – 9:00pm. Studio 8. Nude or costume, long pose.
    • Sunday 9:00am – 2:00pm. Studio 10. Nude or costume, long pose. We will have music, refreshments and some less than healthy snacks to keep the energy up while trying to carry out our vision.
